The use of Rental Cars are varied. You may may have just purchased your airline tickets and may wish to have a car at your disposable for the entire vacation period, so you will be able to go wherever you wish to go. Or you and your entire clan or maybe even an entire organization may be going somewhere, a special occasion maybe and you regular car just would not fit the whole clan, so you will be needing a bigger vehicle to carry you, your relatives or the whole organization.
One thing you have to know about rental cars is that rental companies may sometimes overbook just like what airlines do. If however, by any chance when you are about to claim that car that you have reserved for your vacation and there is none available, the rental company should be able to upgrade you at no cost to you. If however, there is none available at that rental car company, you can ask for them to be the one to make arrangements at another rental company, an affiliate perhaps or maybe another branch.
So when you are about to pick up your car, you should always have your credit card, driver’s license and cash with you. Bring your reservation or confirmation number. If you are going to use your own insurance, always bring proof. If you know of any discounts or promotions, bring the coupon so you will be able to avail of it. Always check if the car’s brakes, turn signals, headlights, taillights, windshield wipers, radio/CD player, automatic windows and others are working. Check if the spare tire is there, owner’s manual and even the jack. If there is a company rental sticker on the car, ask the company to remove it because robbers always target tourists and you would not want to be a target.
